Ebbett Rotorua backs homegrown champion Tuhoto-Ariki Pene in new sponsorship partnership
Ebbett Rotorua is proud to announce a new sponsorship partnership with professional mountain biker and Rotorua local Tuhoto-Ariki Pene, supporting his journey as one of New Zealand’s top elite downhill athletes.
The 12-month partnership, effective from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, includes access to a BYD Shark — BYD’s powerful new plug-in hybrid ute — providing the versatility, space, and durability Tuhoto-Ariki needs as he trains and competes throughout New Zealand. From November 2025, he’ll have full-time use of the vehicle, which offers all the performance of a tough utility with the innovation of electric mobility.
Born and raised in Rotorua, Tuhoto-Ariki has deep ties to the region and is a proud ambassador for the local riding community. From his early days on a BMX bike at age 3, to standing on the podium at world-class events, his rise has been nothing short of extraordinary.

- King of Crankworx 2023, winning all four major events in the series
- Seven-time National Champion
- Bronze medalist at the 2019 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships (Junior)
- Multiple UCI World Cup podium finishes
